NEW DELHI – The Bharatya Janata Party (BJP) government in India on Wednesday took notice of reports of Pakistan state-sponsored cross-border activity in the corridor connecting Kartarpur area of Narowal and India’s Gurdaspur district.

Indian intelligence reports informed the leadership that they had footage of people moving across the Line of Control (LoC) in broad daylight, which camps under tents being set up across the border in Pakistan.

The reports further confirm that they had images as evidence of the Pakistani civil-military leadership being present under these tents.

“There was clear brainwashing and conspiracies being taught to those who can only be described as Pakistani agents,” read the classified intelligence report sent to the Indian home ministry, a copy of which is exclusively available with The Dependent.

Pakistan High Commissioner to India Sohail Mehmood has been summoned to explain Islamabad’s position on this blatant breach of the LoC and sponsoring of anti-India agenda across the border.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo issued a statement asking Pakistan to sanction those responsible for the cross-border activity.

“We further have evidence that after the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, Islamabad is working on another anti-India corridor.” Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj said.

“Pakistan must immediately stop these attacks, because India is perfectly capable of locking up doors and throwing away the key.”
