WELLINGTON – T20 leagues from all around the world are set to include New Zealand rain in the auctions for their upcoming seasons, The Dependent has reliably learnt.

With the Pakistan Super League (PSL) set to begin in February, the New Zealand rain might feature as a foreign player.

“The added bonus is that this international player would not mind touring Pakistan for the playoffs and the final either,” a member of the PSL organising team told The Dependent.

However, a stumbling block for the PSL is that the drafts have already been done and squads for the third season that is set to start next month already finalised.

“There is always the option of adding players to the squad after the commencement of the league if there are injuries, bans or any other reasons for players’ withdrawal,” the member of the PSL organising team added.

Even so, it can be confirmed that even if New Zealand rain does not mark its T20 franchise debut with the third season of the PSL, there’s a chance for a blockbuster start to the career with the Indian Premier League (IPL).

While others might have played crucial roles as well, the fact that New Zealand rain helped New Zealand win the first two ODIs of the ongoing series against Pakistan has put in on the cricket map.
