A recently released report by the education advocacy group Alif Ailaan is a sweeping indictment of the state of math education amongst the researchers at Alif Ailaan.
“We showed in the report that the researchers over at Alif Ailaan lack even the basic sense of plotting out graphs, titling them with the correct figures on the x and y axes, and other bare basics,” said Hammad Hassan, Lead Researcher, Alif Ailaan.
“I think this report is a wake up call for policy makers, elected representatives, education bureaucrats and my parents,” said Abdullah Khattak, chief executive officer of Alif Ailaan. “So much was spent on my education and that of these guys working with me. Where did all that money go, I ask.”
The report has jolted policy circles into action. “There was always an idea that things are far from ideal on the education front,” said Ahsen Iqbal, federal planning minister. “But these loveable idiots have shown us that they truly don’t know which way is up.”
“I will personally explain to them what a weighted average is, and how to actually calculated percentage increases. Also how Twitter polls do not qualify as ‘national surveys.’”
