US President Donald Trump praised the quality of the Pakistani reporters and judges during his Oval Office press conference where him and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan took reporters’ questions.
When a reporter asked the US president a question, Trump asked if he was from Pakistan and was told that the reporter was. “Good, I want a couple of Pakistani reporters. I like them much better than our reporters.”
“Also judges, I’ve been observing them and reading them and, believe you me,” he said, gesturing to his Pakistani counterpart. “You’ve got a good thing going.”
The President’s praise of the Pakistani journalists started when PM Imran Khan said to journalist Sami Embrahim, “Uncle ko twinkle twinkle sunao.”
Emrahim then sang a perfect rendition of the song, after which both the heads of government clapped. “Now, ABCD,” said Imran to Ebrahim.
“But it’s the same song,” pleaded Ebrahim, pointing out that both were to the melody of Ah! vous dirai-je, maman, composed by Mozart. But, after a stern look by the prime minister, the alleged journalist promptly belted out the tune.
President Trump was impressed by this behaviour. “Good stuff. And I like your judges, they just go whatever the hell your guys want them to do,” he said. “You’ve got seventeen of them in your Supreme Court, I’ve got nine, but I still can’t get them to do what I say, despite my personally selecting one of them.”
“Hey, could you get one of them to do Ba Ba Black Sheep over the phone, after this presser is over,” he asked PM Khan, who agreed.
