ISLAMABAD – The ruling party Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday put another feather in its political cap, as it announced the successful launch of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The newly launched PML-N, has been named after Nawaz Sharif, a veteran politician who has been the Prime Minister of Pakistan three times.

Despite being launched this week, the PML-N comes with three decades’ worth of political experience, including in matters that have brought the PTI to the helm of government.

Political analysts see this launch as a masterstroke by the PTI government and predict that the move could actually ensure a long-term successful future for the ruling party.

“To launch a party more successful and more experienced than your own is only something that a truly great and incorruptible leader like Imran Khan could have pulled off,” said leading analyst Haroon Rasheed.

Another prominent analyst and a former member of the newly launched PML-N Ayaz Amir noted that no other government in the history of the world, let alone Pakistan, has been able to pull off such a major coup.

“Is there anyone else who can claim to have launched a party that has not only come to power multiple times, but is currently the largest opposition party in the country?” Amir said.

“Many would feel that this is actually a relaunch and not a launch, but considering how amazing this new launch is it feels like a completely new start.”
