Showing a maturity becoming of an emerging national leader, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has decided to accept the results of the 2018 elections.
“Enough of this divisive politics. I hereby offer my unqualified support to the incoming government and unconditionally accept these election results,” he said, speaking to reporters at Bani Gala. “Rest assured, the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf will not, I repeat, will not contest these election results.”
“We will not be out on the roads, protesting against the results,” he said. “This is the time for the nation to come together and move forward. We have a lot of challenges on our hands and we need to sink our teeth into those problems instead of petty, divisive politics.”
In the outstanding speech, which is already being considered third only to Iqbal’s Khutba-e-Allahbaad and Veena Malik’s defence against Mufti Naeem, Imran Khan said that he hoped the polity takes a lesson from his approach towards avoid conflict for the greater national good.
