MOHALI – Rohit Sharma celebrated his second wedding anniversary in grand style by slamming his third ODI double hundred in Mohali, where he was joined by wife Ritika Sajdeh whose emotions were visible throughout the innings.
While the double century itself marked the joyous occasion, the Indian opener made up for forgetting last year’s anniversary by overtaking #Viruska on the trending charts within a day of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s wedding.
“Overtaking #Virushka as the most trending couple on the day was easily a bigger achievement than scoring three double centuries,” Rohit Sharma said while talking to The Dependent.
“Especially within a day of the wedding of Virat and Anushka, for whom I am exceedingly happy from the bottom of my heart.”
Rohit maintained that while the wedding anniversary could not have panned out any better on the cricket, marriage and Twitter fronts, he still has one small regret from the memorable day.
“I still haven’t received a congratulatory message from Mr Hafiz Saeed on the double century, wedding anniversary, or indeed the fact that we were the most trending couple, while he had sent a message to Virat and Anushka,” the record breaking batsman told The Dependent.
“Especially since he knows quite a bit about trending, and the accompanying adrenaline rush.”
