LAHORE – After almost two weeks of thorough deliberation the senior PML-N leadership constituted by merely Nawaz Sharif himself has finalised the PML-N candidate for the NA-120 by-election on the seat vacated by the former Prime Minister.
After much debate with himself Nawaz has decided to go with his bulletproof container accompanying him from Islamabad to Lahore, as the final candidate.
“The container has beaten Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz, Kulsoom Nawaz and Maryam Nawaz as someone Mian saab can completely trust,” sources privy to Nawaz Sharif’s meeting with himself told The Dependent.
According to reports, the container warded off stiff competition from a random pebble earmarked outside Nawaz’s Model Town house.
“After Saad Rafique had said that even a stone backed by Nawaz Sharif would win the NA-120 by-poll, Mian saab wanted to give that theory a try,” the PML-N source said.
“However, he wasn’t quite ready to trust Saad Rafique enough to go with his choice of pebble,” the source added.
It remains unclear whether the bulletproof container would replace Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as the Prime Minister till 2018, should it win the by-election.
Meanwhile, Tehmina Durrani has ordered a shipment of latest arsenal from Russia to test how ‘proof’ the container really is.
