KARACHI – The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has decided to revoke the basic gym membership of party’s senior leader Farooq Sattar, The Dependent has learnt.

The decision was made at an emergency meeting chaired by convener MQM-P and federal minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui at the party’s headquarters in Bahadurabad, Karachi.

MQM-P sources privy to the development said the Rabita (coordination) committee has decided to revoke Sattar’s gym membership to send the message across to him.

“Not only do the leaders of the party not want to maintain any sort of contact with him, we are definitely not going to hold his arms and feet while he does bench presses or lift him up for a round on the monkey bar,” a senior MQM-P leader said.

It is pertinent to mention here that the veteran politician resigned from the ballot committee in September also stepping down from the chairmanship of the Tambola club, saying he could no longer perform duties in the capacity.

Meanwhile, sources close to Sattar confirm that he is weighing up a discount offer to join another gym.

Earlier this month, Sattar was indicted in Loudspeaker Act violation case, owing to MQM-Pakistan’s former convener’s failed attempt at a career in DJing.
