ISLAMABAD – A veteran caterer who has provided refreshments at meetings of the National Security Committee for the past three decades, helped Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi out on Monday, by telling the premier where the dotted line on the meeting handout was.

PM Abbasi, who was visibly up for the most important task for the meeting, wherein the joint statement would have to be signed off, looked to be having trouble finding the place where he has to put in his signature.

Therein, the 78-year-old caterer known commonly as chacha jee, helped the premier out.

“Aithay, thora jaya thallay kar ke mundeya [Here, down here, young man]” chacha jee said, while putting PM Abbasi out of his misery.

It is pertinent to mention here that chacha jee has provided food and drinks for countless NSC meetings and has been witness to some of the most important national security decisions taken by Pakistan.

“So it’s perfectly natural that helped out the Prime Minister,” a PM House official said while talking to The Dependent.

“However, it is important to note that the signature was on the line, right against the bottom corner of the page. They were not, I repeat they were not, against Nawaz Sharif.”
