WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump cleared the way for the deployment of thousands more orders pertaining to the Afghanistan policy Monday, backtracking from his promise to swiftly end America’s longest war – with the makers of its foreign policy.

“My instinct was to pull out” Trump admitted as he spoke of frustration with a war that has killed thousands of US troops and cost US taxpayers trillions of dollars.

But following months of discussion, Trump said he had concluded “the decision to exit would actually be yet another act of flawed American policymaking, which can create a vacuum that would be filled by flawed American policymaking of the future.”

In this regard, Trump pilloried Pakistan for offering safe haven to the “agent of chaos” that US foreign policy is.

“It is time for Pakistan to demonstrate its commitment to civilisation, order, and to peace,” he said. “We can no longer be silent about Pakistan’s safe havens to US foreign policy,” he said warning that vital aid could be cut for Islamabad if it continues to “harbour the destructive forces that emanate from Washington.”

“US policy has been to pay Pakistan billions and billions of dollars to make sure they don’t safeguard US policy. At the same time, they are housing the very demons that we are fighting: ourselves,” he said. “That will have to change and that will change immediately.”

  1. Pakistan will never reconcile. Pakistan Army always want to trouble Afghanistan and India. They do not want peace and in case peace prevails their importance and power will be reduced .So things l wont change if America with holds aid or not.
