MOSUL – ISIS has finally confirmed that the group killed its supreme leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi in a suicide attack on Tuesday. The confirmation came from the senior officials of the terrorist organization.

The 45-year-old, who was the widely accepted caliph of the ISIS, which conducts terrorist activities in several countries of the Middle East, Asia, Europe and elsewhere, was killed after consensus among ISIS ranks both in the Middle East and overseas.

In a message released on social media ISIS further said the successor will be named soon and is expected to be taken down sooner than it took to kill al-Baghdadi.

The death of al Baghdadi was initially revealed by the Russian Defence Ministry which claimed to kill the al-Baghdadi, but the claim has been rubbished by ISIS who have taken ‘complete responsibility’ for killing their caliph.

“It’s the loudest and proudest inside job in recent history,” an ISIS spokesperson said in the video released on social media. “We didn’t want someone like him ruining the great cause that we uphold,” he added.

Some Pakistani media reports also claim that he drowned in water, like former al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, but the waters were different in al-Baghdadi’s case.

“He was killed after drowning in the frequently navigated chulu bhar paani,” a leading Urdu newspaper said. “Whether or not he was pushed down there by his fellow jihadists, is yet to be confirmed.”
