KARACHI – Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the side that he led and his own performance individually as well.

While addressing a press conference at the National Stadium Sarfaraz said that he and the team have done precisely what they’ve wanted to achieve for the majority of the recently concluded World Cup in England.

“I am absolutely satisfied with the performance of the squad, and even more satisfied with myself as the leader of a squad of players, almost every single one of which was just interested in doing enough so as to keep their place in the national side after the World Cup,” the Pakistan captain said.

Sarfaraz said that not just the World Cup, the strategy to maintain individual numbers high enough has been the strategy of the team for a while.

“In ODIs, we have been clean swept by New Zealand, Australia and England in the past 18 months, lost to South Africa as well and had an abysmal Asia Cup. But none of the main players was dropped and I remained captain as well,” he said.

However, Sarfaraz lamented the failures of some of his team mates.

“I think Fakhar Zaman and Hasan Ali might be dropped for a bit. But most others should be okay,” he concluded.
