ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif is all set to lead a nationwide movement against undemocratic forces within his party, The Dependent has reliably learnt.
The decision comes after Shehbaz’s mandate as the democratically elected leader of his party was challenged by what his followers call ‘invisible forces’ within the PML-N.
According to sources, the mandate is being stolen by one of the many vice presidents in the PML-N, who is believed to have forged an alliance with the supreme leader of the party.
“The party’s supremo is an invisible force himself,” said a PML-N leader and a close ally of Shehbaz Sharif. “Despite having no constitutional mandate within the party, the invisible force is actually making all the decisions. This is a clear breach of democratic principles and should have no place in a democratic party in a democratic country.”
While Shehbaz’s protests are likely to get a massive following given the support that he and his group enjoy, sources reveal the rise of another faction within the Shehbaz camp of the PML-N which wants to take a more pragmatic approach with the powers that be.
“The invisible force is all-powerful for a reason. We just can’t do anything without some form of cooperation,” said a member of the Shehbaz Sharif faction within the Shehbaz camp of the PML-N.
