Only a day has passed since the ban on basant was lifted by the Punjab Government after almost 12 years and there is already quite a bit of speculation with regards to who will have the rare honour of holding PM Imran Khan’s pinna/charkhi come February. Reliable sources informed The Dependent that in order to avoid another squabble between cabinet ministers over the one-day job the PM has decided that someone who has nothing to do with the party and no sense of politics in general should get the job, applications for which are being accepted until Friday.
Documents available with The Dependent show that actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has in fact submitted his application bearing serial number ‘0001’. “Not only is this a great opportunity for me to get my foot in the door but I’ll spend the entire day with Kaptaan who I haven’t met since that super exclusive election night garden party” said Abbasi with a nostalgic smile on his face; eyes visibly watery.
“Look, look! That’s going to be me” Abbasi said excitedly pointing towards the guy holding Khan’s pinna/charkhi in a vintage clip of a young Imran Khan flying a kite. It is pertinent to mention here that Abbasi has not yet been selected by the PM and there is every chance of someone else being picked as anyone fitting the abovementioned criteria can apply.
