KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA-elect Aamir Liaquat Hussain apologised to Senator Sherry Rehman over his tweet, clarifying his position after posting an image with a caption and deleting the tweet.
Aamir Liaquat took to Twitter saying “I have respect for you [Sherry Rehman] because of the issues you raised in NA when I was there too. It is misunderstanding, my tweet was aimed at leaders’ crisis resolution skills.”
PTI MNA-elect went on to say, “Twitter didn’t delete my tweet, I deleted it myself cause my party leadership called me to check my crisis resolution skills.”
Talking exclusively to The Dependent on Wednesday night, Aamir Liaquat further described how he was misinterpreted.
“Being locked in an all parties conference full of competition and not finding a way to get out of it is an absolute crisis situation – just ask Farooq Sattar,” he said. “And anyone with the ability to wiggle their way out of it proves their ability to resolve national predicaments.”
Aamir Liaquat went on to say that as a member of the National Assembly he wants to see people with such prowess around him.
“I’d make the same comment about the Parliament of Pakistan, if I can find the right image to photoshop,” he said.
