The so-called establishment or deep state, as it is also called, is not behind the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf. These were the words of a caller from an unknown number on Tuesday.
“There should be no confusion on this matter,” said the caller.
“We insist that there is no collusion whatsoever and would urge the media not to put two and two together.”
The caller, who had taken a set of journalists on a conference call, reiterated that the deep state was not supporting the political party and was not behind any of its politicking. Furthermore, the caller said it had nothing to do with the set of politicians joining the party.
“Another incorrect assumption is that there is some sort of nexus with the judiciary, through which the government is being destabilised,” continued the caller.
“The government is pretty much calling the shots like it always has. It is only the elected political government that is being dragged around a bit, that’s all.”
