LAHORE – The trophy of the FIFA World Cup that was unveiled in Lahore last Saturday, has confirmed that Pakistan is a safe country for international cricket.

The trophy that had come to Lahore as part of a journey that sees it travel to 51 countries and 91 cities across six different continents, encouraged other foreigners to tour Pakistan without any fears for their security.

“Now that I’ve come here myself and spent over a day in Pakistan, I can assure all of you who might still have their concerns that Pakistan is an absolutely safe place to play cricket in,” the trophy that would be presented to the football World Cup winners in Russia this summer, said in an exclusive interview with The Dependent.

“Pakistan is a peace loving country that loves cricket and there is absolutely no reason for anyone to be scared while touring the country. Also, it does not provide safe havens to terrorists,” the FIFA World Cup trophy further said reading out a statement.

The trophy’s tour will continue till May later this year, during which it vowed to encourage all international countries to send their teams to Pakistan.

“I will also convince every foreign player participating in the PSL 3 that starts this month that they should tour Pakistan for the playoffs and final,” the trophy added.
