India is causing unnecessary tensions in the regions through the belligerent statements of its defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman, said the spokesperson of the Pakistan Foreign Office on Tuesday.
“These are not verbal statements, as such,” clarified Dr Muhammad Faisal, while speaking to reporters in his weekly press conference at the Foreign Office.
“But it is more other forms of communication like photos of hers chairing meetings of the three services chiefs.”
“She might pretend it is part of her routine activity of doing her job,” he said.
“But we know that this is a smug statement on part of the Indians.”
“The region is not conducive to such sabre-rattling,” he said. “Neighbours need to get along with each other and respect the culture of their neighbours. There should be no point-scoring on all issues. That is just not on.” “Similarly,” he added, with tears in his eyes. “The very fact that so few of the key ambassadorial assignments are given to retired military officers and almost all of them are from the Indian Foreign Services.”
