In a major political development, the song Dila Teer Bija, the political anthem of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has joined the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI.)

Dila teer bija!” said the song, while talking to reporters at a press conference. “Ae dushmana laee!

“What the anthem means is that it is pleased to join the PTI,” said Sameer Ahmed, the song’s interpreter. “And that it would strike an arrow into the hearts of the enemies.”

Jiyayy Jiyayy, Jiyayy Benazir!” said the song. “What the anthem means by that is Jiyayy Jiyayy, Jiyayy Benazir!” said the interpreter.

This entry into the PTI is only the latest PPP jiyala joining the party, following most recently, that of Mandi Bahauddin PPP stalwart, and former agriculture minister, Nazar Muhammad Gondal.

Though insider reports say that some original members of the party, like the song Banay Ga Naya Pakistan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi, have misgivings. “I think we should be a little more circumspect about who we let into the party,” said Qureshi at a press conference in Multan, without naming the song.

“I mean why should we let these people, who were till very recently top members of the PPP, to come into the…..oh. Okay, sorry,” he said, before ending the press conference.
