FAISALABAD - Poor sanitation, bad smell, boiling gutters and flooding streets forced the residents of Rasoolpura and Mehar Colony to take out rallies against Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and their elected representatives. Hundreds of protestors blocked the main Jarranwala Road at NFC Chowk, disrupting the two-way traffic by burning tyres and throwing stones on the main road.

DHA refuses to pay sewage charges to WASA
LAHORE - The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) has declined to pay sewerage charges to the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) planned to be levied on all housing societies from this year, Pakistan Today has learnt. The Punjab government is resisting imposing the 80 percent hike in the commercial water tariff fearing a backlash from the public already unhappy over the government's performance, Pakistan Today learnt on Friday.
