LDA gears up for the monsoon

LAHORE - The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has approved the construction of storm-water drains and gully gratings at 21 drainage-deficient locations of the city. The project will cost Rs 151 million and will start before the start of monsoon.

CDGK cleaning drains for next monsoon

KARACHI - The city government will clean and de-silt seven major drains by the middle of June to prepare for the next monsoon season, Karachi Administrator Fazlur Rehman said on Wednesday.
The administrator said this while inspecting the cleaning of Manzoor Colony and Mehmoodabad nullahs. He was accompanied by EDO Municipal Services Masood Alam. On the occasion, he directed the Municipal Services Department to clean all large and small drains before the start of the next monsoon
