Tourism dept gets 1,000 acres of land

KARACHI - Sindh Board of Revenue's Land Utilisation department has provided 1,000 acres around the Keenjhar Lake in Thatta to the Sindh Tourism Department to promote tourism in the area.
Sindh Chief Minister's Adviser on Tourism Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh disclosed this during a meeting of the Gorakh Hill Development Authority (GHDA). The meeting was also attended by Sindh Tourism Secretary Shahid Gulzar and GHDA Director General Abdul Qadir Mangi among other officers.

MOSCOW - A Moscow judge handed former tycoon Mikhail Khodorkovsky a 14 year jail term Thursday in his second trial on money laundering and embezzlement charges, an AFP correspondent reported.

KARACHI: People in Karachi are faced with a fresh dent as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has allowed KESC to swell the security deposit for installation of new connections by five times the previous amount.
