National Women’s Football C’ship starts today
LAHORE - Frontier College, who earned a surprise quarter-final spot in last year's National Women's Championship, will face Striker Club on Friday, April 15 when the fourth edition of the National Women's Football Club C'ship 2011 commences at Peshawar. The event will be played at five zones. PFF has announced the draws, with matches in Islamabad set to start from April 19, while the matches in Karachi, Quetta and Lahore will be played from April 21.

LAHORE - Pakistan Railways added another feather to their cap when they annexed the All Pakistan Tehsil Municipal Corporation Football Cup at Toba Tek Singh. Railways, under coach Muhammad Rasheed, overwhelmed PAF 3-2 in the final, with Imran getting two goals for the winners. Asif Hameed scored the third goal. LAHORE - The fourth edition of National Women Football Club Championship will commence from April 15 at four zones, Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar. The top two teams of each zone will move to main event slated to run at Islamabad's Jinnah Stadium from September 17-30. The field for qualification is expanded to eight from four.
The four qualifiers last year were Frontier College of Peshawar, Karachi's Diya FC, Lahore's Sport Sciences and Rawalpindi's Young Rising Star.

LAHORE - Pakistan Football Federation President Faisal Saleh Hayat has approved 24 teams for fourth National Women's Football Club Championship 2011, to be held from April 6 to 13 simultaneously at four zones Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar.
The top two teams from each zone will qualify for the 7th National Women's Championship, slated to run at Islamabad's Jinnah Stadium from September 17 to 30.

LAHORE - Provincial Punjab Election Commissioner has appointed Chaudhry Liaquat Iqbal as Lahore District Convener to conduct the Lahore Football Elections 2011. The Lahore Football hailed PPEC's decision as everyone is impressed by Iqbal's way of working. Meanwhile, Iqbal has asked all the 39 clubs of Lahore to submit their nomination papers for the office of DFA Lahore latest by March 20.
