LAHORE – Cricket superstar A B De Villiers, who will be participating in the fourth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) beginning next month, expressed surprise at his decision of touring Pakistan being deemed anything but a no-brainer.

The former South African captain, who will be playing his trade in PSL 4 for the Lahore Qalandars, rubbished claims that touring Pakistan carried any security risk.

“I think almost everyone who now knows that I will be touring Pakistan knows that I will be doing so while playing for Lahore Qalandars,” de Villiers said while talking to The Dependent in an exclusive interview.

“So of course, if I am brave enough to sign up for Lahore Qalandars, I am brave enough to play in Lahore – or to do pretty much anything in life,” he said. “I am not scared of anything in life after daring to play for Lahore Qalandars.”

De Villiers further advised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to make the most of Lahore Qalandars to get more international cricketers to come to Pakistan.

“They could maybe create more Qalandars outlets. Because with the courage provided by Lahore Qalandars along with the transportation ensured by the owners of Multan Sultans, the PSL can continue to be the route for international cricket’s resumption in Pakistan,” he said.
