ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned former federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique on August 15, according to media reports.

The reports added that both brothers have been summoned by the anti-graft body’s Lahore chapter with relevant documents in an inquiry against a private housing scheme scam.

In April 2018, the NAB had sought an explanation from the brothers regarding an exchange of their 50-Kanal piece of land with ‘developed plots’ measuring 40 Kanal in Paragon Housing Society through an agreement.

On March 28, Rafique had appeared before the Lahore NAB in an investigation pertaining to the housing scam.

A three-member team had investigated the former federal minister in relation to a corruption probe into a private housing scheme allegedly owned by them in Lahore.

However, the former railways minister has called the probe political victimisation, remarking that the slogan for accountability was chanted for a different purpose.
