ISLAMABAD – With the bulk of lawmakers and ex-lawmakers from the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) joining Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on a regular basis, the latter is likely to reach extinction similar to that faced by Homo erectus, according to a recent study.

The study titled “When will PTI start saying no to ex-PML-N leaders?” published in Naya Pakistan VS Old Pakistan Journal found that at the current rate of influx of former ruling party’s members, PTI’s own specie will either become contaminated with invasive species (i.e. former PML-N leaders) or fail to survive among the fitter and experienced ‘electables’.

A PTI worker, on the condition of anonymity, revealed that he has started seeing unrecognisable faces in PTI meeting, adding that any PTI meeting looks like a PML-N power show to him. He cried, “Mutants are everywhere.”

“On an ordinary day, five to ten PML-N members join PTI and we are even going out of party merchandise which is used to welcome incoming leaders,” he told The Dependent.

Hundreds of PML-N leaders, workers and leaders’ workers have joined PTI in the past few months. The difference between the two parties may diminish completely in another few months at the present rate, he added, recalling that the party is still suffering from the earlier influx of newcomers from Pakistan People’s Party.

He warned, “PTI’s existence is at stake. One day, we may get submerged with the invasive ex-PML-N leaders and have to rename ourselves to PML-N-Insaf.”
