LAHORE – Having already clarified that his return to domestic cricket did not signify any interest in playing international cricket again, veteran all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has further revealed that he is only planning to make himself available for the next 12 seasons of the Pakistan Super League.

In an exclusive interview with The Dependent, Razzaq said that he does not want to become a hindrance for up and coming youngsters.

“That’s why I’ve decided to not make myself available for the national side, where I won’t be considered anyway, and am instead only eying the PSL, which, you know, is supposed to be the breeding ground for youngsters,” he said.

Razzaq also added that ‘12’, in addition to his preferred shirt number, also carried special significance for him.

“It will be a milestone number. It will be PSL 15, and I would have turned 50 – on paper that is,” Razzaq revealed.

The big-hitting all-rounder further said that he isn’t arrogant or delusional enough not to realise that there is a chance that despite being a part of the PSL draft, he mightn’t be purchased by a franchise.

“In that case, I will create a new franchise and draft myself,” Razzaq announced. “Or better still, I’ll create a new T20 franchise league for myself altogether.”
