LAHORE – Former Prime Minister and Former President of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif said that the final of the third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be a referendum on his disqualification.

Addressing a press conference at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Thursday, Nawaz said that the people have given their decision to keep fighting the war of prestige of vote.

“The entertainment provided by the PSL and the enthralling cricket action proves that my message has reached all hearts of Pakistanis and every corner of the country,” he said.

“PSL’s success proves that people want their vote to be respected and are sick and tired of elected representatives being sidelined by external forces,” Nawaz added.

Nawaz Sharif, addressing the press conference alongside Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi, reminded everyone that it was he that gave Pakistan and the world, the PSL.

“PSL is one of the countless PML-N projects that have ensured the progress of Pakistan, and has benefitted Pakistanis from all corners of the country,” he said.

The former premier added that the team which wins the final will determine the validity of his disqualification.

“If the Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi or Islamabad United win the final then the decision was wrong,” he said.

“If Lahore Qalandars win the final then the decision was right,” he concluded.
