KARACHI: A 12-day protest march which started from Matiari district by All Sindh Education Department and Lower Staff Association for acceptance of their demands reached Karachi Press Club (KPC) here on Monday.

The marchers walked up to 200km on foot. They were led by Wazir Ahmed Keerio, Muhamad Salih, Ahsan Jamali and Mashooq. A huge number of employees belonging to the education department reached KPC to welcome the march. They presented Ajraks to the participants of the march.

Speaking on the occasion, the protest leaders said that they had been demanding up-gradation, timescale, sons’ quota, uniform allowance and a residential colony facility for a long time but the high-ups in education department are not serious about their demands.

They said that their salaries have been pending for several months. They demanded that their issues should be resolved as soon as possible, appealing to the education department and Sindh chief minister to give special attention towards their problems.

Later, the protestors ended their march and dispersed peacefully.
