The Sindh High Court (SHC) Wednesday summoned managing director of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) on November 24 over water scarcity issue in the City.
The issue of water shortage continues to haunt Karachiites for the past few months as prolonged power outages had badly disrupted the working of KWSB.
A two-member division bench headed by Justice Sajjad Ali Shah was hearing the case, pertaining to water dearth in the metropolis.
During the hearing, plaintiff Rana Faiz-ul-Hassan told the court that the provincial government has failed to combat water deficiency in Orangi Town, Sher Shah, Gulberg, New Karachi,Sarjani,Malir and Landhi despite tall claims.
Rana Faiz-ul-Hassan urged the court to order early restoration of water so that the residents can get relief.
Subsequently, the court summoned KWSB MD in next hearing due on November 24.
