ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that he would hold a ‘grand walima’ on GT Road, the date of which he will announce later, to show that the people of Pakistan stand with the judiciary after the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s decision to take an offensive line against the judiciary and debating the conduct of judges in the parliament and other forums as well.

Addressing the media after a meeting of the PTI’s parliamentary party on Wednesday, Imran said he will show Nawaz Sharif why he was ousted as the PML-N president, by feeding hundreds of thousands of guests along the GT Road route, who would throng his walima.

“Pakistan’s judiciary and I have reached this point after a long struggle,” he said. “And there’s no better way to celebrate our success than a grand walima.”

The PTI chief went on to say that he would announce the date of the grand walima after touring the country for smaller walimas in various constituencies.

“The evolution of marriage comes after a long struggle and Nawaz Sharif is only diverging it,” Khan said.

“The Constitution and democracy are being assaulted, and the conspiracy is afoot to ruin the country. And the best way to counter it is to get married and make babies,” he added.
