LAHORE – While answering 13 questions raised by the Panama Bench of the Supreme Court, Brazil and Barcelona star Ronaldinho Gaucho believes the apex court will not hold Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif responsible of any wrongdoing, despite the Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report.

Ronaldinho, who was in Pakistan last weekend to play friendly football matches, was addressing a press conference before departing.

“The SC will cast some doubts about the prime minister in absence of any reasonable evidence but at no place will it hold the PM guilty,” said Ronaldinho whose seven-member team beat Giggs XI in the two match exhibition series 2-0.

Ronaldinho, who first heard of the Panama Papers case and the JIT formed for its inquiry last Saturday after landing in Pakistan, said over the course of previous two days he had learned enough about the case to make an accurate prediction.

The World Cup and Champions League winner, who doesn’t understand English or Urdu, added in Portuguese that: “The SC will declare that the Sharif family could not provide sufficient evidence to establish the movement of money from Dubai to Qatar, from Qatar to Jeddah and from Jeddah to London as claimed.

“However, the SC will link this issue to Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz,” he added.

While departing Ronaldinho also said that Pakistan is a tolerant nation, and the Panama Papers inquiry proves that maybe it has been tolerating some people for too long.
