In most of the areas of the Karachi the load-shedding hours vary from three-six hours. Unfortunately, I live in an area where the load-shedding is for six hours daily. The news of extended load-shedding hours came to me as a power threat as it is expected that the power break down will be for 14 hours now. It is predicted in the future that there will be an increase or extension in power breakdown hours. The government and we, the general public, should take steps together to overcome this major issue. The government should generate electricity itself but should let the private companies distribute it to the private, commercial and industrial sector and also allow them to receive the payments of the bills effectively.
This will maintain a balance between consumption and generation of the electricity. Public should also play its part in saving the power by switching off extra light and fans and should use energy savers in order to thwart the issue of load-shedding.
