Police on Saturday impounded 31 vehicles and 168 motorcycles in different police stations while tinted black papers from 53 vehicles were removed.
According to the details, SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq directed all zonal officers, SDPOs and SHOs to remain vigilant and enhance security and patrolling in various areas of the capital.
Following these directions, different police stations conducted general holdup and impounded a total of 31 vehicles and 168 motorbikes being driven without authentic documents.
Meanwhile, 78 suspects were arrested during a search operation in various areas of the city. Police teams also recovered 3 illegal pistols along with 30 bullets from their possession.
The actual aim of the general holdup is to maintain law and order in the capital and to curb criminal activities. The SSP appreciated the performance of the police officials and instructed them to further enhance security in their respective areas.
