The recently reported witch hunting of NESPAK by an MNA, supposedly the convenor of a subcommittee of PAC, smacks of mala fide intentions to blackmail a premier institution of Pakistan. All this muckraking appears to be inspired by refusal of MD of NESPAK to promote two employees recommended by the said MNA whose own tenure is going to lapse in a few week’s time. Such frivolous issues that the MD of NESPAK is not an engineer but an architect is belied by the fact that the University of Engineering and Technology gives scores of professional degrees including the subject of architecture. As such the objection that MD NESPAK is not an engineer is not valid while he had been a member of Board of Directors of NESPAK for several years.
The proof of pudding lies in its eating. The NESPAK is a prestigious professional organisation as a limited company and it should not be maligned by a person that has personal motives to tarnish a successful organisation. This does not promote the image of the government. The national press ought to avoid playing in the hands of a person that has petty personal motives.
