A police constable was killed and another injured on Friday in an exchange of fire between the police and suspected criminals in Sheikhupura. According to details, the police conducted a raid near Hardav village. During the raid, criminals opened fire on the police, resulting in the death of one constable and wounding another. Police sources revealed that a total of eight criminals were killed in the raid while several others managed to escape. The dead body of the police constable, Liaqat Wattoo, was handed over to his family.
DPO Rai Abdul Jabbar told Pakistan Today that the dead bodies of the criminals had not been identified and were shifted to the morgue for the postmortem. In another incident, a speeding car ran over a 30-year-old man. According to details, a man named Muhammad Ishfaq, resident of Baker Mandi was traveling on his motorbike to Mohlanwal along with his wife and child when a speeding car collided with the vehicle from the back, killing Ishfaq on the spot.
