News has appeared in the section of the press that a 14 years-old Pakistani student from Peshawar has clinched silver medal in 6th International Environmental Project Olympiad recently held in Baku, Azerbaijan like Musa Firoz who won an online mathematics competition held in Australia and stood first among competitors from 100 countries. The project presented by Muhammad bin Qasim, a class 8 student came in second among over 100 projects from 42 countries. Qasim presented research on a plant found in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province which can cure diabetes. The research was supervised by Prof Dr Mirza Hakim Khan and Huseyin Gursoy from Turkey. While awarding the prize, Mr Kamil Ture, Director Education, Pak-Turk Schools said that promoting the bright Pakistani students is our mission and that has helped us win 58 gold, 23 sliver and 44 bronze medals so far in national and international olympiads.

He said that Pak-Turk will continue to do anything to turn visions of Pakistani students into reality. The government of Pakistan should also encourage such talented youth who lie undiscovered because of the defective education system in Pakistan. it is hoped that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shall honour the student and oblige him with scholarship for higher studies.
