Sky high fares

After rapid increase in fuel prices, the high fares of transport is a serious problem our citizens are facing nowadays.

Rising inflation has already incapacitated the poor and now the fares of transportation, both public and private, is touching the sky. For citizens with no increase in salaries, mobility has become exceedingly difficult.

Students already pay high fees for their studies and now they are facing public transport problems as well which is certainly not fair. The recent increase in public transport fares has forced the poor into adopting alternative ways to reach their places of work and other destinations.

Many people have started using bicycles and motorbikes. A few days ago, I heard the news that now people prefer tongas to reach their destination.

By controlling the increase in fuel price, this problem can be solved. Not only should government try to control the price, it should educate the public about fuel conservation and money saving techniques like car-pooling etc.

The government should think about this problem and must try to solve it as it is causing a large section of the society much trouble.
