This is with reference to Punjab home minister’s statement to relocate the Governor House. The Punjab home minister must come out with funny statements at regular intervals to annoy his rivals and provide entertainment to commoners. If the governor can live in a one Kanal house, the Chief Minister can also live in a 10 Marla house, the Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners in three-bedroom flats.
The point to understand is that these are symbolic buildings and pride of the nation and therefore any attempt to convert them into any other building makes no sense. The problem with our politicians all along has been that they have plenty of time to disturb settled issues for which people have no interest whatsoever.
Is it necessary that we bring into dispute each and every institution of the country? How much difficult is it to divert our energies for the well-being of the people? Instead of this bright idea of relocating Governor House, other places may be explored which are in abundance. Let us demonstrate some maturity while making public statements.
