LAHORE – After underlining her own party’s ‘nalaiqi’ (incompetence) and ‘naeheli’ (ineligibility) through the World Bank report that gave a damning statistical verdict on the tenure of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), unstoppably self-reflecting Maryam Nawaz has tweeted news clippings from the 1980s to show how ‘nalaiq’ and ‘naehel’ are selected in Pakistan.

Taking to Twitter on Monday, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz shared news from the 1980s to underline that the rise of the ‘selected’ isn’t something new in Pakistan and has happened regularly in the past.

“Real history of the selected ineligible and the incompetent,” wrote Maryam Nawaz in her caption while sharing stories and articles bashing her own party’s creation and the rise to power of her own father and uncle during the 1980s.

The tweet immediately went viral on the microblogging site and was retweeted by thousands of the PML-N and sympathisers.

Contrary to what the PML-N’s opponents and detractors felt and echoed, Maryam Nawaz and her followers had absolutely read the stories before they shared them on Twitter, sources within the party confirmed.

PML-N Vice President, and Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly, Hamza Shehbaz ‘thanked’ Maryam for “highlighting the PML-N’s selection.

“Welldone!!! We must appreciate @MaryamNSharif for bringing it up. Please keep on highlighting the history of Pakistan. It takes courage to tell the truth. Hats off to you. #Brilliant” tweeted Hamza
