LAHORE – Three time Prime Minister of Pakistan and the supreme leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was moved during the early hours of Wednesday morning after receiving a heartfelt and well thought out WhatsApp forward sent by his brother and party president Shehbaz Sharif.
Nawaz, who celebrated Eid with the prison inmates at the Kot Lakhpat Jail, told his companions that receiving forward messages on WhatsApp from his family members had given him abundance of happiness and renewed his fight against evil.
“Thankfully these days WhatsApp also shows which message has been forwarded. It was overwhelming for me to see how many people forwarded their Eid greetings to me. I am truly loved,” Nawaz said.
“It takes effort to click on the Eid card image and then select forward and then select my name as the recipient of that forward. It shows effort and shows that you care. It’s so personal, unlike those Eid cards we used to buy, and write funny messages in, sign off and then send by post,” he added.
Nawaz added that WhatsApp forwards are also convenient for everyone concerned.
“Given that the entire Sharif family is forwarding the same card to one another, I’ve only had to read it once and yet felt the warmth of the entire family,” he told the prison inmates.
