BRISTOL – Pakistan bowling coach Azhar Mahmood believes Faheem Ashraf is just the acquisition of the requisite skills away from becoming a great all-rounder.

In an exclusive interview with The Dependent, Mahmood explained that as soon as he learns how to bat and bowl at a level expected of an international cricketer who wants to go with the billing of an all-rounder, he will become an all-rounder.

“What a player Faheem can prove to be,” exclaimed Mahmood. “When I first saw him in the emerging players camp, I knew that this guy just needs to learn how to bat and bowl and he’ll become an all-rounder. Now as I see him playing international matches, I feel the same thing. That’s incredible consistency.”

Mahmood said that Ashraf can go a long way in acquiring the skills needed to become an all-rounder by starting to want to acquire them.

“He can have the skills to become an all-rounder the moment he starts wanting to acquire those skills. We are working really hard on him, and if given that confidence, Faheem has the potential to want to become a good player,” he added.
