ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan was left speechless on Monday after he was reminded by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar that Wasim Akram also found ways to increase his income.

The reminder was given in a one-on-one meeting between the two at Prime Minister’s Office, where PM Khan had summoned Buzdar to discuss the Punjab Public Representatives’ Laws (Amendment) Bill 2019 that increased the salaries of lawmakers.

“I’m just doing my best to replicate the great Wasim Akram,” Buzdar said during the meeting, after which Khan didn’t say another word for exactly three minutes and forty-seven seconds.

“What I did to increase my income required consensus and everyone agreeing to the same thing similar to what Wasim Akram did.”

Sources have informed The Dependent, that the CM also reminded the PM that he came from a backward part of the province, which is why he was apparently picked in the first place.

“As you know better than anyone, there is no electricity or roads where I come from. So I really need the money that I will now get thanks to the increase in income of the entire Punjab Assembly,” Buzdar said.

The bill proposed by the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Ghazanfar Abbas and approved with by both the treasury and opposition benches.

“I think we should call Ghazanfar Abbas your Salim Malik henceforth,” Buzdar proposed to a still silent Khan.
