KOHAT: The police arrested two smugglers and seized a cache of arms, ammunition and impounded a vehicle here on Sunday.
Police said that they started snap checking vehicles on a tip-off regarding smuggling of weapons.
During the search of a suspected car at Muslimabad check-post in Kohat, a cache of arms, ammunition including eight Kalashnikovs, 142 pistols and more than 6000 cartridges were recovered.
The police impounded the car with recovered weapons, ammunition and arrested two smugglers on board.
They said that the recovered weapons, ammunition were being transported to Waziristan from Dara Adam Khel.
The police have started an investigation after registering a case against the detainees.
