ISLAMABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Thursday decided to dissolve its Ehtisab Commission and provide funds worth Rs300 million to the provincial Anti-Corruption Department.

As per the details, a provincial cabinet meeting, chaired by KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, decided to repeal the Ehtisab Commission Act 2014.

Following the decision, regular employees of the commission will either be given a golden handshake or will be put in the surplus pool, while the contract employees would be sacked, a private media outlet reported.

Provincial Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai has said the cases of the commission will also be transferred to the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE).

“Amendments are being made in the laws of ACE to further strengthen the department,” he said.
