ABU DHABI – Building on the national ethos established by Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan cricket team on Monday took an inspirational last minute U-turn on beating New Zealand in the final moments of the first Test match at Abu Dhabi.
Pakistan reached their objective of not winning the match against New Zealand by taking U-turns on logic, sensibility, basic technique, to eventually not win the match by four runs – the smallest ever margin of not winning, and instead losing, for the national cricket side.
A humble Sarfraz Ahmed reiterated his stance on the importance of flexibility in the actions or thoughts of leaders, saying that taking this U-turn was a “hallmark of great leadership”.
“We are not those crooks who lie to save ill-gotten wealth,” the Pakistan cricket captain said while talking to The Dependent, from the dressing room minutes after Azhar Ali took the unsuccessful review against the LBW decision, which was the last act of the collective U-turn that gave Pakistan the glory.
Lauding the U-turn of the national cricket side, President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi said that Pakistan cricket has finally come of age under the premiership of Imran Khan.
“It is inspirational how 26 years since winning the World Cup, Prime Minister Imran Khan is still motivating the national cricket side through his words and actions,” the President said while talking to The Dependent.
