ISLAMABAD – After making a statement by choosing to enter the National Assembly for the session on Monday together, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) cochairman Asif Ali Zardari decided to go on an evening stroll, The Dependent has reliably learnt.
It was during the walk that the two leaders had a heartfelt conversation to get rid of any misconceptions and hard feelings, sources have confirmed.
“I was largely misreported and misrepresented when I was quoted as saying that I would drag you on the streets of Lahore and Karachi,” Shehbaz told Zardari, holding his hand. “The only thing I would like to drag is the duration of our lovely evening walks,” he added.
“And when I said that I would hang you in Lahore, all I was saying was that I would like to hang out with you in Lahore. Parathas at Mozang next, weekend? What do you say?” the PML-N president added.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that Zardari had his trademark smile on his face throughout the conversation and reciprocated Sharif’s gestures.
“Today you made the lower house, a lover house for me,” Zardari told Sharif.
