Noted television analyst Dr Shahid Masood has said that though many people do not trust his political judgment, history has vindicated him as the PML(N) government elected in 2013 has finally ended.
“Where are the naysayers now,” he asked, while speaking on his show. “Where are those who mocked me for my predictions? Ah, the sweet taste of victory and vindication!”
“It is not over, I’ll have you know. The Almighty has given me this foresight, this prescience, some call it, and I will not waste it by restricting it to myself,” he said.
“Head me now, Doubting Thomases, for I predict that there will be general elections in this very year, for not only the national but also the provincial assemblies!”
“All you who laugh at this bold prediction will be eating crow, when candid posterity testifies to my correct prediction,” he said.
“I even know who will form the national government,” he said. “It will be whatever political party, or alliance of political parties, that has more than 171 seats in the national assembly.”
“Mark my words.”
