LAHORE – Hopeful commuters were left disappointed following the 11 km test run of the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) from Dera Gujjran station to Lakshmi Chowk station, after finding out that the metro train was not nearly orange enough.

“Over five years of propaganda and what we got is at best ‘red silver with an orange strip’ metro train,” complained one resident from Thokar Niaz Baig.

“Maybe by orange line, they meant the orange coloured line that is on the train, but they should’ve made it clearer. Because I for one feel betrayed after almost five years of waiting for a shining fast moving thing in my favourite colour,” said another resident of Samanabad.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has underscored that the lack of orange in the OLMT is the latest act of corruption that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has been found guilty of.

“If they can misappropriate the orange colour that was going to be used for the train, who knows how much money they have eaten up in this project,” Khan said while talking to The Dependent.

“Believe me when Khyber Pakhtunkha has its own Orange Line Metro Train, it will be a lot more orange.”
